How did India fare on Day 4 of the Paris Olympics 2024? Check the full results
On Day 4, Manu Bhaker, an Indian shooter, made history by being the first female athlete from India to win several medals at the same Olympics. Bhaker, who took home the bronze in the women’s 10 air pistol singles competition, paired up with Sarabjot Singh to win another bronze in the mixed 10m air pistol competition for India. The Indian duo also made Olympic history by being the first to win a medal for India in a team competition.
The Indian hockey team won the Pool B match 2-0 over Ireland, extending their winning streak in the competition. India advanced to the quarterfinals thanks in part to the brace scored by captain Harmanpreet Singh.
Star Indian shuttlers Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty secured a commanding victory over Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Adrianto, winning 21-13, 21-13. They are the first Indian pair to reach the quarterfinals in the men’s doubles event at the Olympics.
The Indian boxers, Preeti Pawar, Jaismine Lamboria, and Amit Panghal, too had a dismal day in Paris as they lost their matches.

Shooting
Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh won a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, becoming the first Indian pair to secure a medal in a team shooting event at the Olympics.
Prithviraj Tondaiman was eliminated from the men’s trap shooting competition, finishing 21st out of 30 participants.
Rowing
In the men’s single sculls event, India’s Balraj Panwar placed sixth in his quarterfinal heat race.
Archery
Ankita Bhakat faced a 4-6 defeat against Poland’s Wioleta Myszor in the women’s individual 1/32 round.
Bhajan Kaur secured two victories to advance to the women’s individual pre-quarterfinals. She defeated Indonesia’s Syifa Nurafifah Kamal 7-3 in the 1/32 round and Poland’s Wioleta Myszor 6-0 in the 1/16 round.
Dhiraj Bommadevara triumphed over the Czech Republic’s Adam Li 7-1 in the men’s individual 1/32 round but was narrowly defeated 5-6 by Canada’s Eric Peters in the 1/16 round.
Hockey
India defeated Ireland 2-0 in a Pool B encounter, led by captain Harmanpreet Singh’s brace.
Badminton
Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Adrianto were defeated 21-13, 21-13 by Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty. A spot in the quarterfinals is secured by the Indian duo.
Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto lost to Syifa Nurafifah Kamal of Australia 15-21, 10-21.
Boxing
In the men’s 51kg round of 16, Amit Panghal was defeated 1-4 by Patrick Chinyemba of Zambia.
In the women’s 57kg round of 32 match, Jaismine Lamboria was defeated unanimously by Nesthy Petecio of the Philippines.
Preeti Pawar lost the women’s 54kg Round of 16 match by split decision to Yeni Marcela Arias of Colombia, 2-3.
