Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court is set to review the charge sheet submitted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the deaths of three UPSC aspirants at a Rajinder Nagar coaching center.

The case involves the tragic deaths of three UPSC candidates after the basement of Rau’s IAS Study Circle in Old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi, flooded on July 27 this year.

The CBI has filed a charge sheet against six individuals, including CEO Abhishek Gupta, Deshpal Singh, and building owners Parvinder Singh, Tejinder Singh, Harvinder, and Sarabjit Singh. Notably, the driver of the SUV, Manuj Kathuria, was not named in the charge sheet.

The accused are charged under sections related to criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide under the IPC, and the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) will consider the charge sheet against these six individuals.

On September 23, the Rouse Avenue Court granted interim bail to CEO Abhishek Gupta and Coordinator Deshpal Singh. The Delhi High Court previously granted temporary relief to Sarabjit Singh, Tejinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, and Parvinder Singh, the four co-owners.

On August 2, the Delhi High Court transferred the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

On August 1, Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court had granted bail to Manuj Kathuria, the SUV driver. The vehicle was later released to him as per the court’s order on September 4.
