Devendra Fadnavis & Ajit Pawar quit their ministries; a sulking Eknath Shinde stays in Delhi.
The 3rd resolution parties in Maharashtra have inquired the demotic BJP commissioner to catch up on a few remaining and made warm debate after arriving at an accord on the assignment of daftary place and the top three portfolios.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made a two-day trip to Delhi on Wednesday to fix the remaining debate over a few departments. The deputy chief minister, Ajit Pawar, went to Fadnavis, but an enraged Eknath Shinde chose not to go.
After discussion over the past few days, Fadnavis, Shinde, and Ajit have consented to give the BJP 22 seats, the Shiv Sena 11 seats, and the NCP 10 seats. The chief minister and the ministerial council in Maharashtra are limited to 43 members.
Each party’s berth number is still up in the air. The Sena and NCP have to accept comparatively small cabinets if they want to win more seats, according to a BJP executive.
The Home Department and the Revenue Department are likely to continue to be the primary responsibility of the BJP. While the finance department will join the NCP, Shinde, who was advocating housing, has been transferred to the Department of Urban Development.
On Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning, Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, government home minister Amit Shah, and BJP president J P Nadda were scheduled to meet.
As he was scheduled to attend the meeting as well, Shinde made the crucial choice to not go. According to his close associates, he was only assigned to the Department of Urban Development and did not obtain any other notable positions. Although the BJP rejected his plan, he expressed interest in several areas, including energy, housing, and public works, including MSRDC, and revenue. Shinde is also displeased with the BJP’s demand that he dismiss dishonest former government officials.
A close aide claims that Shinde is furious with the way he has been handled over the whole ordeal. He has to haggle over everything. Despite his greatest efforts and significant contribution to the Mahayuti party’s election victory, he feels that he has not
contributed significantly to the Mahayuti’s victory in Maharashtra. Instead of going to Delhi, the deputy chief minister chose to remain at home in Thane.
Mahayuti leaders said they were trying to resolve the portfolio dispute before the first cabinet enlargement. After their meeting in Delhi on Thursday, Fadnavis and Ajit will meet with Shinde in Mumbai to finalize the names that will be sworn in on Saturday. According to a BJP spokeswoman, the ruling coalition could only expand the cabinet size if the differences were resolved before the start of Nagpur’s winter session on December 16.
“The three parties can change a few departments in due course, even though the contentious three departments (finance, home, and urban development) have been settled on,” a leader in the BJP said.
Along with having access to its water resources, the BJP is certain to keep its homes and income. While talks between the BJP and the NCP in the agriculture sector continue, the NCP may be allocated to the cooperation department. The Sena will take over the excise and public works departments. It is expected that the party will retake these departments, which were held by the previous Mahayuti administration.
Former Shiv Sena politician and minister Uday Samant claimed that Shinde had been given full authority by the party to determine power-sharing.”On Monday night, he met with Devendra Fadnavis in great detail,” stated Samant. “The conversation is going well.”
According to the aforementioned senior Sena leader, the party was requesting 13 seats and anticipated receiving at least 12, meaning the NCP might receive nine.”The BJP could ask them and even the Sena to settle for relatively insignificant departments, but the NCP is also pushing for additional berths.”
He continued, “The BJP could ask them and even the Sena to settle for relatively insignificant departments, but the NCP is also pushing for additional berths.” Although it remained unclear if the entire team will be sworn in, a top BJP source stated that the cabinet expansion may take place on December 14.
He claimed that just 15 to 18 ministers, five to six from each party, were able to take the oath of office during the first enlargement, even though there should have been more than 30 new ministers.
The Shiv Sena and the BJP are in disagreement over admissions; the BJP has demanded that the dishonest ministers from the previous government be fired, but the Shiv Sena is not ready to do so. Secondly, at least two of the three parties have claimed various departments, such as PWD and agriculture.
A senior NCP, the BJP, and Shiv Sena are at the point where the names of those to be inducted have also been finalized, and our party has accepted the berths offered.” Given the exigencies of the winter session, Fadnavis has insisted on bringing in as many lawmakers from the three parties as feasible.
The newly appointed chief minister will hold a Thanksgiving rally in Nagpur on Friday after going from Delhi. The last day before the swearing-in is Saturday, the BJP representative earlier stated. Should that not happen on that?
“This winter session will be held on 21st Dec. If it does not happen on that day, then it can go on for a very long time.”
