Noida Authority CEO Penalizes Employees for Keeping Elderly Man Waiting Standing for Over an Hour
The CEO of Noida Authority, Lokesh M, took strict action against his employees after an elderly man was made to stand for an hour to complete some paperwork. To address the issue, Lokesh made the staff involved stand for 20 minutes while continuing their tasks. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
As reported by the Hindustan Times, the senior citizen had visited the residential plot department at Sector 6 of the Noida Authority to process property transfer documentation. Despite the presence of a staff member available to assist, the elderly man was left waiting unnecessarily.
CCTV footage revealed the situation to Lokesh, who promptly instructed the staff member to address the issue as a priority. However, the employee ignored the directive and continued delaying the work, prompting Lokesh to personally visit the department and intervene.
“I observed via CCTV that one of our employees was just sitting about without bothering to properly greet the guests. Lokesh told the publication, “I witnessed an elderly person standing for more than an hour and the staff was not attending to his complaints.” I messaged him to take care of the problem right away. However, the senior gentleman continued to stand because the staff was failing to address the property transfer issue.
After that, he made the employees stand for twenty minutes.
“I went to this area and told all of the employees to stand for twenty minutes while serving the guests,” Lokesh remarked.
Many social media users commended Lokesh for disciplining staff members who harassed citizens in an office that receives about 1,000 visitors every day. The need to alter the workplace culture was brought up by others.
“The CEO did an excellent job,” Abhimanyu Singh (@Abhimanyu1305) said.
“Has the old man’s issue been resolved? “No,” Rishi Choudhary (@RishiRahar) wrote. “Working while standing for thirty minutes will not accomplish anything. The culture at work needs to be changed. The employees must be made more understanding. It is necessary to instill in them a fear of the law in addition to holding them accountable. There will also need to be the termination of two or four underperforming workers.”
As a result of the action, a now-viral video shows all of the employees standing and working as a form of discipline for their failure to appropriately assist guests who were seeking assistance with property-related issues.
