BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of editing and distorting Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech from the Rajya Sabha and sharing it on social media. In a notice to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Dubey alleged a breach of privilege and demanded Gandhi’s suspension from the House.

In his letter to Om Birla, Dubey criticized Gandhi’s actions, calling them a sign of “political bankruptcy.” He alleged that the edited video of Shah’s speech was shared to provoke public sentiments and tarnish the dignity of Parliament. The controversy stems from Amit Shah’s recent speech during a Constitution discussion in the Rajya Sabha, where Congress circulated a short clip accusing Shah of disrespecting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. In response, Amit Shah and the BJP accused Congress of misrepresenting his remarks.

The issue escalated further when ruling and opposition MPs clashed in the Parliament premises, leaving two BJP MPs injured. An FIR has since been filed in connection with the incident.

Dubey claimed that Rahul Gandhi deliberately manipulated Shah’s speech to discredit him and lower the dignity of Parliament. He stated that Gandhi’s actions amount to a violation of parliamentary privileges and contempt of the House. The BJP MP urged the Lok Sabha Speaker to take strict action, including suspending Gandhi until the Privileges Committee completes its investigation.

Furthermore, Dubey accused Gandhi of engaging in parliamentary misconduct to appease foreign entities like George Soros. He alleged that fabricated articles targeting the government and key institutions are deliberately circulated before Parliament sessions, with Congress leaders using them to defame the nation’s institutions.
