Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on the phone on Tuesday. During the conversation, the PM discussed the flood situation in the state and assured that the government would provide all possible help.

Cyclone Fengal has caused severe damage in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. In the past few days, heavy rainfall has led to flooding in many areas. Villupuram district in northern Tamil Nadu is particularly affected, with roads and houses submerged. In Tiruvannamalai district, five people lost their lives after a house was hit by a landslide, and two others are still missing. The NDRF team is searching for them.

Chief Minister MK Stalin has said that 69 lakh families and 1.5 crore people have been affected by this disaster. He has requested the Central Government to release Rs 2000 crore from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF).
